The Taheri scholarship Society was established in 1945. The society was registered as a public trust under the Bombay Public Trust Act in 1952. The Taheri Scholarship Society caters to the needs of students of Dawoodi Bohra Community for school and higher education keeping in mind the developments in higher education as well as social and scientific aspects of modern society and the Bohra community in particular.

The main objectives of the society are-

1. to promote study of religious, secular, technical, commercial and industrial objects amongst the Dawoodi Bohra students
2. to devise various means and schemes for encouraging the spread of knowledge in science and arts in the Dawoodi Bohra community.
3. to encourage the Dawoodi Bohra Students making researches in various branches of knowledge and science

The Society runs a school (primary and secondary level) for Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community children.

Burhani College of Commerce and Arts

Burhani College of Commerce and Arts, a sister institution, was established in 1970 for catering to the needs of higher education. The college is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and offers the B. Com., M.Com. and B.A. Hons. degree courses. Since the year 2003 the college offers B.M.S. and B.M.M. – degree level management courses as well as career oriented diploma courses in Export Management, Event Management, Computerized Accounting and E-Commerce. The college is accredited by NAAC B++ level and has also obtained the ISO 9001 : 2000 certification.
